THE November 30, 2022 voters’ List, which was published as scheduled on Wednesday, has a total of 2,001,759 electors.
This represents an addition of 22,117 people to the list who are now eligible to vote in future elections.
The new list will be used in the upcoming local government election scheduled for February 2023 or before.
According to the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ), people added to the list will receive their voter identification cards with a December 31, 2032 expiry date.
The ID cards for these electors will become available by the end of December and should be collected at the EOJ office in the constituency where they are registered.
Those electors who have not yet renewed their ID cards still have an opportunity to do so by visiting any EOJ constituency office or satellite location.
EOJ constituency offices facilitate collection and renewal of voter ID cards on Mondays to Thursdays 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Electors may check the ECJ website at www.ecj.com.jm/voter-id-card-renewal/ to find a list of satellite locations.
The next voters’ list is scheduled to be published on May 31, 2023.
