The Kingston College (KC) Class of 1980 celebrated the 43rd year of graduation with a number of activities February 23-25 in Jamaica.
In their continued support for their alma mater, a five-year scholarship was announced to be awarded to a deserving student at the rate of $150,000 per year beginning in the 2023/2024 school year.
The first instalment was made through contribution from the Brianne Ashley Stewart Foundation, Florida, a body set up in honour of the late daughter of member of the class of 1980, Lincoln Stewart.
At the same time, the KC Old Boys’ Association (KCOBA) received the first instalment of a financial donation totalling $1 million to be disbursed over five years to support its social intervention programmes at the school.
Well-known benefactor and CEO of Medallion Hall Hotel Glen Bromfield made the contribution through the KC Class of 1980 at the recent union dinner in Kingston.
This donation came as the members of the Class of 1980 renewed their commitment to assist their alma mater and, particularly, working through the KCOBA.
