Dominican Firefighters Return Home After Serving in the Grenadines

A team of Dominican firefighters returned home yesterday after spending a month in the Grenadines, where they provided critical assistance in the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. The hurricane, which struck in July, caused significant devastation across the islands.

Fire officers Charles, Mitchel, and Grant, who served under the Caricom Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU), were stationed on Canouan and Union Island. They worked alongside military and fire service teams from Barbados and The Bahamas to support relief efforts and help restore normalcy to the affected communities.

The Dominica team expressed their happiness at being back home, looking forward to much-needed rest and relaxation with their families after their demanding service abroad.

Welcome home guys and thanks for servicing well.
