KTHS marks 127 years

KINGSTON Technical High School (KTHS) marked its 127th anniversary with a week of activities from January 9-13 dubbed “Celebrating a legacy of accomplishment.”

Activities ranging from sporting events to academic competitions resulted in the awarding of prizes.

On Friday morning, at a special assembly, a number of students received tablets from Marjorie Neita of the alumni association, while grade 8 students Ajani Chin and Karita Hanson were presented with bursaries from the Davidson family in New York, awarded in memory of the late Jean Davidson who served as president of the alumni association’s New York chapter. The bursaries were presented by Professor Dr Winston “Winty” Davidson and KTHS past student Nadine Bernard, a representative of the New York chapter.

In addition to the bursaries Professor Davidson, who is a medical doctor, committed to providing the two students with free medicals each year for the duration of their schooling.
