Scholastic Opportunities
The Houston Caribbean Professional Association believes that every student can succeed if they have equitable access to resources and opportunities that cater to their needs, interests, and scholastic success. We believe that we are uniquely positioned to drive an impactful education-oriented platform that encourages academic success, civic stewardship, and enhanced cultural identity by connecting students to scholarship, internship, and career and professional development opportunities.
Internships
HCPA Scholarships
Students can volunteer and receive course credit hours for dedicating time and service toward our initiatives. Get involved in the following areas:
- Marketing
- Audio/Video Editing & Production
- Website Support
To become involved, submit an email of inquiry to hcpa@hcpassoc.org with subject “Internship”
Through our partnerships with Houston Caribbean Festival and Reign (Gala), as well as philanthropic donations, we have given over $5,000 in scholarships. Criteria for an HCPA scholarship includes:
- Enrolled at accredited university
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- One letter of recommendation
- Resume or CV
- Essay must answer questions ( importance of community to you, vision for contributing to your community, and why you should be selected as an awardee)
