Twice the charm

Williams, founder of StaceySpeaks and Convent of Mercy Academy “Alpha” alumna, recently feted girls who are part of the same fifth form class as she was during her years at the institution.

Williams shared that she made herself available to mentor other students at the academy that are referred by the guidance department and in addition, she sponsors the tuition of a child in need.

“The motivation to adopt a class came after a visit was arranged through the Alpha Academy Alumnae Association, where Alpha alumnae were afforded the opportunity to have morning devotions with the students and give the girls a pep talk ahead of their upcoming exams. As fate would have it, I was paired with the students in my former fifth form class. After speaking with them that morning and listening to their feedback on how the exam preparation was affecting them mentally, and also seeing for myself looks of defeat while they expressed their feelings, I thought it necessary to become their mentor and motivator to help to guide them through the process,” Williams said,

She added: “My plan to adopt the class was pitched to the leadership of the academy and they were in full support of the idea. I am like a big sister looking out for my younger sisters.”
