The Forestry, Wildlife and Park’s Division, Dominica: is calling all community members, hikers, and nature lovers to participate in Dominica Forest Week 2024, from March 18th to March 22nd! Everyone is invited to join in celebrating the vibrant forests and biodiversity of our “Nature Island”. This program is a collaboration between the Ministry of Environment, Rural Modernization, Kalinago Upliftment and Constituency Empowerment and our partners; the World Bank and the PROGREEN Fund.
Dominica Forest Week is a movement toward a greener, more sustainable future. Embracing our theme “Forests and Innovation” activities will showcase the positive impact of biodiversity conservation and innovative approaches by businesses and forestry partnerships in Dominica. The health of our forests is essential for a healthy, vibrant economy and sustainable livelihoods. Dominica’s natural treasures, such as our Morne Trois Pitons National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Waitukubuli National Trail, and our other national parks showcase our nation’s commitment to preserving our forests and ecological wealth.
Throughout Forest Week there is an exciting lineup of activities and events that promise fun, learning, and meaningful engagement for everyone:
Monday & Tuesday March 18 & 19: Dive into the Forest Week Exhibition at the Botanic Gardens in Roseau where you’ll discover the incredible diversity of our island’s ecosystems.
