The French copyright society honors Gordon Henderson at a ceremony at the society’s headquarters after 50 years of active presence at SACEM.

Henderson, who joined SACEM in 1974, rose to the highest rank of membership “sociétaire définitif” in 1999, a status achieved by a determined threshold of earnings. Henderson told the press, “I am proud and humbled to be honored today along with only one other composer from the Caribbean in the person of the Martiniquan Alex Francfort, a member of the famous Gibson Brothers,” and quickly added, “The African continent is well represented and I look forward to seeing Caribbean creativity also prominently showcased in the Sacem museum.” Henderson, who is in the final editing stage of his documentary film co-produced with SPEKTAK.TV from Guadeloupe, will be on tour this summer in Guadeloupe, Martinique, St. Lucia, Réunion Island, and Miami, USA.
